Subject: Cornyn’s heart belongs to Obama
Date: February 14, 2014 11:22:21 AM CST

It’s St. Valentine’s Day.

But John Cornyn’s legislative heart belongs to Barack Obama.

John Cornyn voted twice to fund Obamacare (2013 Senate Roll Call Votes 44 & 206.)

John Cornyn voted this week to completely eliminate any limit on Obama’s debt spending (2014 Senate Roll Call Vote 33.)

Even worse, Cornyn did both by stabbing Ted Cruz in the back.

Ted Cruz tried to stop Obamacare with a filibuster.

John Cornyn stabbed Ted Cruz in the back and worked with Harry Reid to fund Obamacare.

Ted Cruz tried to stop Obama’s debt limit hike with a filibuster.

John Cornyn stabbed Ted Cruz in the back and worked with Harry Reid to give Obama a blank check on spending.

Not me.

I stand with Ted Cruz.

I have voted NO on raising the debt limit on every vote.

I voted to abolish, repeal, defund and stop Obamacare on every vote.

Please stand with me for U.S. Senate.

Early voting starts on Tuesday, February 18.

Sincerely,

Congressman Steve Stockman
Conservative Republican for U.S. Senate

P.S. John Cornyn’s legislative heart belongs to Barack Obama.  Cornyn voted to fund Obamacare twice and to remove any limit on Obama’s power to rack up debt.

Even worse, Cornyn conspired with Harry Reid to stab Ted Cruz in the back on both issues.  I stand with Ted Cruz, and I have voted NO on Obamacare and more debt 100% of the time.

Please stand with me for U.S. Senate.  Early voting starts on Tuesday, February 18.

  4. The issues that I see here are:
    (1) The “factual sources” reference to “Obamacare” votes, #44 for “Department of Defense, Military Construction and Veterans Affairs, and Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act, 2013” does not cover the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare)
    (2) The “factual sources” reference to “Obamacare” votes, #206 for “Motion to Invoke Cloture on H.J. Res. 59” is not a vote _for_ a bill but rather a _time limit_ on the discussion of the bill
    (3) The reference to bill #33 for “Motion to Invoke Cloture on the Motion to Concur in the House Amendment to S.540” again is not a vote _for_ a bill but rather a _time limit_ on the discussion of the bill
    (4) I went through the entire Texas Monthly article and couldn’t find the quote attributed to Senator Cornyn that Senator Cruz needs to be “less confrontational”

  5. I’ve got to say ‘Aye’ as well. Initially, I didn’t see a problem with the ad at all, I wasn’t even thinking about checking references. However, after checking I was left wondering why the references cited had anything to do with Obamacare. Was there some small part of 44 or 206 that related to Obamacare that I just didn’t see? Could they have just made a typo? I might even go so far as to believe that if it wasn’t a mistake on both of the articles cited.
